Highland Pointe is a beacon to those seeking an amenity-rich new-home neighbourhood in Winnipeg’s fast-growing northwest. Located off north McPhillips just past Leila, Highland Pointe is where residential luxury meets a sector packed with established services and fantastic retail.
“Highland Pointe is a master planned mixed use community that offers a nice balance of single-family homes, duplex side by sides, townhomes and multi-family homes,” says Matthew Yan, Vice President of Sales with A&S Homes, a leading Manitoba home builder with four new properties on offer in Highland Pointe at the Fall Parade of Homes. “This wide mixture of products allows all price point options, resulting in one of the fastest growing communities in Winnipeg.”
Highland Pointe got its start in 2021 when developer Ladco broke ground on Phase One and its initial 249 lots. Today, the company is just finishing work on Phase 5 with the release of an additional 130 serviced lots and 24 townhomes. Expect this new phase to follow the community’s pattern of success with a full complement of new home products from luxury lake walkouts to townhomes and duplexes from Manitoba’s front-line builders. When complete, Highland Pointe’s 400 acres will be home to some 3,000 families.
“We are following the success in Prairie Pointe with a group of consistent performers who have attracted buyers with exciting show home designs,” says David Borger, Vice President Development of Ladco. He points to A&S Homes, Ventura Homes, Hilton Homes, Discovery Homes, KDR Homes, Randall Homes, Signature Homes, Daytona Homes and Manak Homes, as leading builders in the community.
According to Michael Carruthers, Ladco’s Manager of Land Development, they continue to add amenities to Highland Pointe as it matures. For example, they are completing plans for a 16-acre park that will bring total natural and recreational areas to 35 acres with playgrounds, lakes, wetlands and walking trails to complete a neighbourhood package that teams with services already on offer in the area.
“We are also extending Fernbank to Murray Avenue in the adjacent Aurora development. This will provide easy access to a new K-8 school being built in the area,” says Carruthers. École Mino Pimatisiwin School at 140 Mira Gate will be a dual-track French/English school offering space for 700 students and 74 preschoolers at its daycare facility. Opening is expected for September 2026.
Highland Pointe offers great connectivity with proximity to shopping, easy access to Seven Oaks Hospital, and established neighbourhoods in the area.
“With its many amenities and functional, yet attractive surroundings, Highland Pointe offers everything you’ll need to make yourself at home,” says Matthew Yan.
